Good one Denis!
You don't hear much talk about corporate welfare. Just people on welfare. That is of course until the giant oil companies enjoying the greatest profits in the history of the world are on the hot seat before congress saying they are just people.

I used to work with a fella who emmigrated from England (not too many of them around) during Margeret Thatcher's grand and glorious budget balancing era. He used to say. "Every time the country balances the budget the ordinary people go flat on their arse."

Interesting. Baseball's always been a game of inches. Now the NBA is. And the Rays. Did you notice the new logo on the front of their shirts? They've added a sun, which sends the message: We're the sun rays. This after them dropping the Devil from Devil Rays because of some p.c. concerns. Now it looks like they're in the process of getting away from the fish idea altogether. Probably the vegan lobby. Rays of the sun? Who could be offended by that? I'm still amazed that Cleveland still has that smiling " Native American " on their hats. Never seen the whole guy, just his face. Rumor has it he's seven feet tall.

I have a call in to my attorney. I'm in the process of changing my name - to Troubles McCarthy. Maybe I'll get something out of this, not that I feel entitled or anything.

And by the way. The story " woof woof " linked us to left something out. Leona's gravestone? It's shaped like a hydrant. Which might explain why she wanted it powerwashed at least once a year.

I read your post three times, rubbing my eyes after each reading. I'm going to read it again after commenting here. Then I'm going to read the paper, which I haven't got to yet to see what happened with North Korea. Then I'm gonna pinch myself. Then I'm gonna read your praise of Bush again.

I can't believe I just wrote that.

Three people in Providence celebrated the Court's decision last night by getting shot and killed. Three separate incidents happening in different parts of this ( of many ) Dodge Cities. Domestic violence has been and is a huge problem. It got worse yesterday. Getting out of Dodge used to be hard; now it's impossible. Now it's all Dodge, all the time. God help us.

Times keep a changin' all the time. After watching channel 3 this evening displaying the new signs to Ann Uccelo St. and then reading your post I was reminded of an old...really old joke. There was an Irish cop patroling his Asylum St. beat when he came upon a group of people gathered around the ragpicker's horse that keeled over and died. After a few minutes he started to write out his report but stopped at location. He called out "Hey a bunch of you boys, get over here and help me drag this carcass over to Ann St." After adding Uccello to Ann I would guess it would take the kicker out of an already corny joke. Say, did I spell Ucello right?
