So what exactly will they do, these Theocrats, when they are elected and move to impose their will about contraception on the nation, and punish those who offend?
Since it is a huge sin for us Catholics to practice any manner or thought of birth control, most of us we will surely be roasting in hell as major sinners. The Church tells us that — and wishes to inflict its imperium on non-Catholics as well.
You could think that we will at least have all those priests and bishops and cardinals and popes as company in Hell because of the rape they commited on small children all around the planet, sexually assaulting youngsters with the enthusiastic support, enabling and covering-up of higher headquarters. But, no. The Catholic church sees little wrong in the astonishingly widespread rapine of its officers upon innocents in just about every spot where there are priests to rape, and bishops to cheer them on.
So the monstrous despoilers will go to heaven and those people who use birth control will go to Hell. Hope Hell’s a big place.
But the pandering politicians who demand that birth control and contraception be banished and outlawed, have a more immediate problem.
Do we have prisons enough to put away our wives, sisters, mothers, grandmothers — and husbands and brothers and fathers and grandfathers — who have committed this great crime, the one the Republicans leaders are howling at the moon over? Do we have police officers enough to peek into everyone’s bedroom to make sure that the arm of the law can quickly grab offenders and haul them away? Do we love and trust our government onough to expand and empower it so?
Apparently the Republicans do. It is their great issue, the political music from the leadership’s lips: contraception is evil so those who use it must be punished and people are running for government position on that issue so they will apply it when they win.
Since we do not have a Get Out of Jail Free card the way the Catholic leaders issue a Get Out of Hell Free card to their sexual predators then Bishops Santorum and Romney and Gingrich and Paul and Boehner and McConnell must punish us. Why make a campaign issue unless you plan to implement it when you get the power? So Jewish people and Baptistc people and Buddhist people will go to jail for not obey Catholic rules.
That’s what they’re telling us.
My, my. Interesting outfit, this Republican party.

An additional note about Santorum’s anti-woman philosophy. As part of his campaigning in Missouri, one of his underlings called my sister-in-law and asked for “the man of the house” and whether or not he planned to vote for Santorum. She replied “not very likely” because there was no category called “when donkeys fly”. Next step, Sharia law and the American Taliban.
