The answer in what to do with Joe the Weasel is simple: Reward him.

Barack Obama, feeling magnanimous (and counting Senate votes) reportedly suggests that the world should turn a blind eye to Joe Lieberman’s perfidy and treachery and largely ignore the fact that Lieberman actively, aggressively, dishonestly, selfishly and mean-spiritedly worked against Obama on behalf of the Republican hate machine. Democrats take a deeper squint at Joe the Kidney Puncher.

Make Joe the Slitherer ambassador to the island paradise of Tuvalu. As Lieberman is using the Scott Boras Veritek Strategy of demanding a huge new contract after an awful\, dismal season, we should indeed put aside the true and honest rage that every good heart feels at this evil man. Instead we should send him as far away as possible.

Tuvalu is a lovely place, tropical and beautiful. It is so much more than Lieberman deserves but, in the Obama spirit, is just the place to assign the double-dealing back-stabber. Connecticut’s Republican governor may appoint one of her own to replace Joe but what difference would that make — one Republican for another. Soon enough a Democrat would win in a special election.

Joe the Ambassador, meantime, could be so many time zones away that we’d never ever hear from him again.

And, oh yes, Tuvalu is sinking under the sea. The waters are rising and promise to wash away the little place soon. Our ambassador will, of course, need to be there representing our interests until the very end — and then some. We would conveniently forget to pick him up. Glub. Glub. Bye bye,  Joe.
